How to create a Traceroute?

A Traceroute is a trace of a packet of data over the network, which can make it very easy to spot any issues you may encounter with your account. It's for this reason that our technical team may ask you to provide a Traceroute to analyze the source of a problem that you may possibly encounter.

A Traceroute actually leaves your computer, to go to your internet service provider's network, to join our network and finally your hosting network.

How to create a Traceroute?



Traceroute command to be done by the terminal:



- With a Windows system :

1. Start by opening a command terminal by going to the "Start" menu, "Program", "Accessories" and finally "Command terminal".
Then launch the Traceroute command by typing in the terminal: traceroute yourdomainname.com

- With a Mac system :

1. Start by opening a command terminal by going to the "Applications" folder then "Utilities" and finally "Terminal.app".
Then launch the Traceroute command by typing in the terminal: traceroute yourdomainname.com

- With a Linux system :

1. You will need to run the following command in your terminal: traceroute yourdomainname.com

Send the Traceroute to the technical team



When our tech team asks you to send them a Traceroute, all you need to do is copy the result of the Traceroute command and paste it into a support ticket and send it to the tech team. On the other hand, if you have any problem performing this Traceroute order, do not hesitate to contact our technical team.
