How to Disable Comments on a WordPress Website?
Comments are a great feature for websites that can benefit from discussions with users. Alternatively, you can disable comments to avoid spam or additional workload.
This document will show you how to disable comments on your entire website and only on specific publications or pages.
You can turn off comments on your website in a few simple steps:
Connect to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
From the Dashboard menu, go to the Settings > Comments section.
In the Default Publication Settings section, uncheck the Allow comments on new publications option.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the “Save Changes” button:
Before turning off comments on your website, consider the fact that other options might better meet what you’re looking for:
Limit the right to comment to registered and logged-in users: enable An account must be registered and logged in to post comments.
Control which posts will be published by yourself: enable Comment must be manually approved.
If you unchecked the Allow comments on new messages option, the two options above will not be available.
You may wish to comment on certain items (for example, on the products of your online store) but not on your entire website. In this case, you can disable comments on certain pages or publications and set them individually. To do this, please follow these steps:
Connect to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.
From the Dashboard menu, access your pages or list of publications.
Select the page or article you wish to remove comments from to access the editor.
In the right sidebar including document settings, scroll down to the Comments section.
Uncheck the Allow comments option and update the page or publication.
