How to change a Wordpress user’s permissions?

By default, Wordpress provides that the permissions of the various users of a site are defined by their roles. Each user is assigned a specific role, which determines what they can and cannot do.

To change a user’s permissions, you simply have to change the role assigned to them.

It is important to note that only a user with the role of super administrator or administrator can change the roles of other users.

Change a Wordpress user’s permissions by changing the default role



Connect to your WordPress Admin Dashboard.

From the dashboard menu, hover over the account section and select All accounts.



From the list of users on your Wordpress site, select the one whose role you want to change. You will be redirected to a window containing user settings.

In the user settings, scroll down to the Role section. Click on the assigned role and select the new role you want to assign to the user.



After making the desired changes, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Update Account button.
