How to manage the identity of your site with the Ex2-Theme header builder?
Managing your site identity with Ex2-Theme header builder
Your logo and other site identity options are directly linked to your brand presentation. As they are part of your header, they are visible on all pages and all
articles, which helps users to always be aware of the website and brand they are interacting with.
The WordPress theme Ex2-Theme comes with a header and footer manufacturer by drag and drop. With this tool, you can easily manage the identity of your site using the “Site Identity & Logo” element. This document will show you how to simply define your logo and other site identity elements, including:
Main site logo
Retina logo
Logo for mobile devices
Site Title
Site slogan
Site icon (Favicon)
You can find the header builder by going to Appearance > Customize > Header builder. To access the item settings, click
simply on the item in the Wordpress dashboard menu or in the visual header editor in the preview.
Logo
You can add your logo from the “General” tab of the header builder. To add or change your logo, follow these steps:
Step 1: Click the Logo area and upload a file or select a logo from your media library. You can add logos in JPG, PNG and SVG format.
Step 2: While this step is optional, activating a different logo for Retina devices will ensure your logos look great on devices with Retina screens. It is advisable to download at least twice as large so that your logos are not blurred on high definition screens. If you decide not to use this option, your website will also display your main logo on the Retina screens.
Step 3: Once your logo is added, you can choose the width of the logo. This will set the size of your logo, as the height will be automatically calculated based on the width. You can also set different logo widths for desktop, tablet and mobile by clicking on the reactive edit icon to toggle between these screens.
Step 4: If your design requires a different logo on mobile devices, you can switch to the mobile edition and activate “Different Logo for Mobile Devices” to have your site display a different logo only on mobile devices. Keep in mind that the mobile logo you set will be used for both tablets and mobile phones.
Step 5: You can move to the "Design" tab of the element and define the margins of the logo.
Note:
If you activate the transparent header, you will have a different Logo option for the transparent logo, allowing you to define a different logo, Retina logo and logo width applied only to the transparent header. This option is available in Appearance > Customize > Header Builder > Transparent Header > General.
Site title and tagline
The site title is a name that you set for the website, while the slogan is the short description of a line.
Step 1: You can make them visible under your logo by activating their respective options in the “General” tab of the “Site Identity & Logo” element. You can enable them separately for desktops, tablets and mobile phones.
Step 2: Typically, the site title and tagline are added when creating a new website in the Settings > General section of your dashboard. If you want to change them, you can do so directly in the item settings without leaving the “Customize” section of your editor.
Step 3: In addition, if you want to position the title and tagline of your site on the right side of your logo, simply activate the “Online logo and site title” option.
Step 4: If you move to the Element Design tab, you will find options to change the color and font size of the site title and tagline.
Note:
If you enable the transparent header, you will have separate options to set different title colors used only for the transparent header. This option is available in
Appearance > Customize > Header Builder > Transparent Header > Design.
Site Icon (Favicon)
This is a small image icon that can be seen in the tab of a web browser, bookmarks bars and WordPress mobile apps. You can set it with the “Select Site Icon” option. The recommended size for your icon is 512 pixels.
