How to create a URL record

A URL record, also known as a URL redirect record or web forwarding record, allows you to automatically forward visitors from one domain or subdomain to another URL.

For example, you can redirect visitors from example.net to example.com, or from blog.example.com to example.com/blog.

Step 1: Access the DNS Management Interface

  1. Log in to your Client Area.

  1. Navigate to My Domains.

  1. Locate the domain name you wish to manage.

  1. Click on the three dots (⋮) next to the domain and select Manage Domain.

  1. On the Domain Overview page, click **DNS Management **from the available options..

You will be redirected to the DNS Zone Editor interface, where you can view and modify DNS records for your domain.

Step 2: Add a DNS Record

  1. To create a new record, click Add row.

  1. Enter the required details in the appropriate fields

Name: Enter the domain name(example.com) or the subdomain (sub.example.com)

Type: Select URL from the dropdown menu.

Value: Enter the URL to which you want the root domain or the subdomain to be redirected

(example: https://www.google.com/)

TTL: If you have a preferred TTL value, enter it. The system requires a TTL between 60 and 2,419,200 seconds.

Priority: You can leave it blank

  1. Save the changes

Step 3: Verify the DNS Propagation

Once saved, DNS propagation will begin. It may take up to 24 hours for your new URL record to take effect globally.
