How to create a CNAME Record

CNAME (Canonical Name) records are used to map one domain or subdomain to another domain name. This is especially useful when you want multiple domain names or subdomains (like www) to point to the same website or service.

Adding a CNAME record helps with setting up third-party services such as email verification, CDN (like Cloudflare), or website builders.

Step 1: Access the DNS Management Interface

  1. Log in to your Client Area.

  1. Navigate to My Domains.

  1. Locate the domain name you wish to manage.

  1. Click on the three dots (⋮) next to the domain and select Manage Domain.

  1. On the Domain Overview page, click **DNS Management **from the available options..

You will be redirected to the DNS Zone Editor interface, where you can view and modify DNS records for your domain.

Step 2: Add a DNS Record

  1. To create a new record, click Add row.

  1. Enter the required details in the appropriate fields

Name: Enter the subdomain (e.g., www.example.com or blog.example.com ).

Type: Choose CNAME from the dropdown menu.

Value / Target: Enter the domain name you want this subdomain to point to (e.g., example.com or example.hostingprovider.net).

TTL (Time to Live): If you have a preferred TTL value, enter it. The system requires a TTL between 60 and 2,419,200 seconds

  1. Click Save Changes to apply the new CNAME record.

Step 3: Verify the DNS Propagation

Once saved, DNS propagation will begin. It may take up to 24 hours for your new CNAME record to take effect globally.

You can check the propagation status using tools such as:
