Connecting Your Domain to Cloudflare via DNS

Cloudflare allows you to use its service for better performance and security. To link your domain to Cloudflare, you need to update your nameservers and, optionally, other records like A Records or CNAME Records for website hosting.

1. Change Your Nameservers to Cloudflare’s

Steps to Add:

  1. After signing up for Cloudflare, they will give you two nameservers.

  Example Cloudflare Nameservers:

Step 1: Access the Domains Interface

  1. Log in to your EX2’s Client Area.
  2. Go to My Domains and select the domain you want to manage (e.g., mathtestex2.eu).
  3. Click on the three dots (⋮) next to the domain and select Manage Name Servers.

Step 2: Change Your Nameservers to Cloudflare’s

  1. On the Nameserver management page, select the setting Use custom nameservers
  2. Replace the existing nameservers with the ones provided by Cloudflare![](https://storage.crisp.chat/users/helpdesk/website/-/5/2/4/2/52421894134f0400/image_c3eagc.png)
  3. Click Change Nameservers to confirm the changes.
  4. It may take up to 24 hours for the nameserver update to propagate fully.

Step 3: Add Optional DNS Records (A, CNAME, TXT)

Once your domain is active in Cloudflare, you can manage additional records directly in your Cloudflare dashboard. Common records include:

  • A Record – for website hosting (points your domain to your web server IP)
  • CNAME Record – for subdomains or aliases
  • TXT Record – for SPF, DKIM, or Google verification
  • MX Record – for email services like Google Workspace or Outlook.

Step 4: Save and Verify Changes

  1. Log in to Cloudflare and check if your domain shows as Active.
  2. Use tools like, MXToolbox and WhatsMyDNS to confirm your DNS propagation.
  3. Verify your website or service connection once the DNS has propagated.

By completing these steps, your domain will be fully connected and managed via Cloudflare, providing enhanced security, DNS control, and improved performance.
