How to migrate an existing Wordpress.com site?
This article can help if your site is hosted on WordPress.com. Just follow these steps to export and import data.
Connect to your old WordPress dashboard (WordPress.com).
Click on the Tools section in the left side navigation menu. Select Export in the submenu of this section.
Then click the Download Export File button.
Choose the location you want to place it in and confirm the download.
Note: Before you start, make sure that WordPress is already installed on the domain. Some larger sites may need to increase PHP memory, download size and run time.
Connect to the WordPress Admin Dashboard of your Ex2 hosting.
Click the Tools section on the left side navigation menu. Select Import from the sub-menu of this section.
Scroll down and click on the link associated with WordPress. To use the tool the first time, click on the link named Install Now.
After installing it, click the Launch Import button.
The tool window will open. Click the Choose File button and select your file to import.
Once you have selected the file, click Upload and Import File.
Create or select the author for all articles you import from active users.
Select the check box to import the attachments.
Confirm the upload.
The WordPress site is now imported.
