How to clone a WordPress installation?
A WordPress clone is a copy of an online website. This WordPress feature allows you to make changes to a site without risking to crash it or alter the functionality of the online website.
It is very easy to clone a Wordpress installation on Ex2 hosting, using the WordPress Manager, available on cPanel.
Log in to your cPanel account (via your customer account or https://www.bmoname.com:2083).
In the Software section, select the Wordpress Manager to access your CMS installations.
To the right of the Wordpress site you want to clone, click the down arrow to access more options.
At the bottom of the management options you will see a series of different color buttons. Click on the one named Cloner.
You will then be redirected to a new page, where you will have to enter different information. First, choose the folder and database to associate with your clon. Note that you must assign a different folder from the original version to not overwrite it.
You then need to define the parameters to apply to your platform. It is recommended to check the Disable Search Engine Indexing function to avoid penalizing content as duplicated.
When you have entered all the information, click the Clone Facility button.
The process may take some time. A message will then announce the success of the operation.
Return to the WordPress Manager menu. You will see the clone of the original installation you just created. You can use it for your tests without affecting your other WordPress installations.
