# I forgot my mailbox password, what can I do?

If you have forgotten your mailbox password, you can reset or change your email account password through your [cPanel](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-cpanel-vq3toz/?bust=1784817968076). The steps below will guide you through the steps to change the password for an email account.

# Here's what to do if you forgot your mailbox password

1.  [Log into your cPanel interface](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/how-to-log-in-to-my-cpanel-account-xyoqm0/?bust=1676305236426) "https://www.domainname.com:2083" or by going through your client area.

2.  Click the "Manage" button next to your email account by going to cPanel >> Email Accounts.

3.  Type your new password in both boxes, then click on the "Update Email settings" button.
