# How to view hidden files in the cPanel file manager?

# The steps to display hidden files in the cPanel file manager

1. [Log into your cPanel interface](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/how-to-log-in-to-my-cpanel-account-xyoqm0/?bust=1676305236426) "https://www.domainname.com:2083" or by going through your client area.

2. In the Files section of [cPanel](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-cpanel-vq3toz/?bust=1784206091492), click on [File Manager](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-the-cpanel-file-manager-1063319/?bust=1783628187343) Icon.

3. To the right of the top bar, click the settings button to open the management window.

4. Check the **Show hidden files (dotfiles)** option and click the **Save** button.

Hidden files will now be visible in your cPanel file manager.
