# How to set up a remote MySQL access via cPanel?

Before you can remotely connect to your databases, the IP operating via a remote connection must be allowed on your [cPanel](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-cpanel-vq3toz/?bust=1784206091492) account.

# Here are the steps to configure a remote MySQL access:

1. [Log in to your cPanel account](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/comment-me-connecter-a-mon-compte-cpanel-pqz10p/?bust=1676032517306) (via your customer account or https://www.bmoname.com:2083).

2. In the Databases section of the control panel, click the [MySQL](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-mysql-1keq6x7/?bust=1784209103272) **Remote** icon.

3. In the **Host** field, you must enter the IP address from which the remote connection will be established. If you want to connect from any IP address, enter the **%** symbol.

You can also enter a description of the remote host in the **Comment** area under the Host field.

The access host should then be added and become visible in the section at the bottom of the page. You can now use it to establish a remote MySQL connection.
