# How to run an antivirus scan via cPanel?

Ex2 performs anti-virus and anti-malware scans of all its managed hosts on a regular basis.

If you still suspect that an element of your website has been infected, you can run a review of your database content yourself.

## The steps to manually run an antivirus scan via cPanel

1. [Log in to your cPanel](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/how-to-log-in-to-my-cpanel-account-xyoqm0/?bust=1676305236426).

2. In the Advanced section of the [cPanel control panel](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-cpanel-vq3toz/?bust=1784206091492), click the **Antivirus** icon.

4. Wait for the requested scan to complete. Depending on the amount of content to analyze, it may take a few minutes. Once the process is complete, you will see the result displayed in a notification window.
