# How to enable automatic updates on a Wordpress site via cPanel?

Wordpress sites can be vulnerable to attacks if the various elements are not kept up to date. To avoid this, it is possible to automatically update the [CMS](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-a-content-management-system-or-cms-1c48kdh/?bust=1784052067814), theme and even [plugins](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-a-wordpress-plugin-1h8sbmr/?bust=1783618505843). 

## The steps to enable automatic updates of a Wordpress site via cPanel

1. [Log in to your cPanel](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/how-to-log-in-to-my-cpanel-account-xyoqm0/?bust=1676305236426).

2. In the Software section of [cPanel](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-cpanel-vq3toz/?bust=1784206091492), click the Wordpress Manager icon.

3. You will then see a list of all your Wordpress installations and their current update needs. On the right of the screen, click the down arrow.

4. You will then access a management page for the various elements of your Wordpress site. Simply enable automatic updates for the CMS, plugins or theme. Changes apply automatically without confirmation.
