# How to add a user and his privileges to a database?

# Here are the steps to add a user and his privileges to a database:

1. [Log into your cPanel interface](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/how-to-log-in-to-my-cpanel-account-xyoqm0/?bust=1676305236426) "https://www.domainname.com:2083" or by going through your client area.

2. In the [Databases](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-a-database-1re36hx/?bust=1784817086124) section, click on [MySQL](https://help.ex2.com/en/article/what-is-mysql-1keq6x7/?bust=1784209103272) Databases Icon.

3. Scroll down to the end of the page and under Add User to Database, select a user from the dropdown list, and then choose a Database from the list.

4. Click on the Add button.

5. On Manage User Privileges, mark the box ALL PRIVILEGES and click on Make Changes.
